Spending the Thanksgiving holiday entertaining his hometown fans, Kid Rock performed during the United Way halftime show at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan on Thursday (November 25).
The 10-minute set came during the New England Patriots/Detroit Lions contest - which was a 24-24 tie through three quarters before the Patriots pulled away for a lopsided win.
As for Rock's performance, it included members of the Michigan National Guard and plenty of extras as he rocked out with "Born Free" centering a "Team America" themed showcase.
Of making the appearance, the Detroit native said, "It's great for the people here -- give them a little slice of home. Sometimes you get (halftime) acts who come in and go through the motions. I think this will be a little bigger, more heartfelt."
Meanwhile, Kid ock also spoke of plans for an upcoming full concert at Ford Field being held to coincide with his 40th birthday on January 15th.
He said, "I'm thinking about as many guests as I can commit -- (artists) I've been fortunate throughout the years to sing with. I'm trying to get those people to come in and make it a different kind of concert, almost like a celebration of music and our city and all the good things down here."
